A craft is more than an object. It carries the skill, judgement and lived experience of the person who makes it. The craft programme is built around learning directly from Moroccan artisans. We aim to make the maker’s role visible—from an introduction to the technique to an understanding of the time and skill behind a finished piece. Our approach is to agree compensation for making, demonstrations and teaching, recognising that each draws on expertise developed through years of practice. Sharing techniques creates opportunities for new learners to understand craft through practice. The intention is to support living traditions while leaving room for thoughtful contemporary expression. We value natural and traditional materials where appropriate, together with considered use of tools and resources. Each workshop should help participants appreciate how material choice affects the process and result. Individual artisan portraits, biographies and specialities will be added as programme partnerships are confirmed. The imagery shown is inspiration, rather than a profile of a confirmed Dar Sophia partner. Artisans, designers and creative educators interested in the programme can contact Atelier Marrakesh Crafts to discuss a collaboration. Visitors can explore learning formats ↗.The hands behind
